My go to spot for AYCE shabu shabu. Insider tip: go on Tuesday or Wednesday before 7PM and your bill is %20 off. Order 5 or more bottles of beer and the beer is %30 off. Service is great as is the quality. Three grades of beef selection are available.

Kushi is an authentic Shabu Shabu spot located on the 3rd floor of a complex in Little Tokyo. I give this place a solid 3 stars. I do love shabu because of how communal and festive it is. (Lesson time) For the less adventurous... Shabu-shabu is a Japanese nabemono hotpot dish of thinly sliced meat and vegetables boiled in water. The term is onomatopoeia, derived from the sound emitted when the ingredients are stirred in the cooking pot and served with dipping sauces. Wikipedia. The communal part I mentioned above is that there is a stove burner at your table and you cook your own meal. Kushi Shabu is decorated authentic. It is a little run down, but that just adds to the appeal in my mind. Also there are private rooms here. No not like a club where you gotta fork out extra money haha. They put larger groups I the rooms. I assume to keep the noice down. My group chooses to come to this spot because we are all World caliber Karaoke singers and the karaoke spot we go to is around the corner. One of the best parts of Kushi is that they have an all you can eat option. They do not rush you out and actually encourage you to eat copious amounts of beef, pork, and veggies!!!! They also have a great Japanese beer selection. Check out my pics. You will get an idea of everything from there. I highly recommend Kushi Shabu Until next time

Absolutely love this place. Friendly staff, great meat and sauces, and amazing ambience. I live nearby so I eat here almost every week. 1 plate is enough to keep me content, but the AYCE option is available for those that want more.

Ive been here a handful of times for their AYCE shabu usually when I meet up with my guy friends whom have the same appetite as me. We usually order the beef and pork. We love chit chatting and eating all night. - Parking on the street/parking structure - Great customer service - Not many customers so you get your food right away - Walking distance to other places in little Tokyo

When we ordered, the female waiter didn t even allow us to finish before she just rushed The restaurant was not packed at all with many empty tables but she was plain rude. When we tried to ask her something about the menu, she didn t even bother to explain to us and expect us to somehow figure it ourselves. Also, with the language barrier that she couldn t speak fluent English, was not helping at all. She literally threw the radish and onions in the sauce without even asking for our preferences

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles for its homey shabu shabu that is as close to what I had in Tokyo then any Ive found in LA. There is a secret to ordering here and yes, not everything is good here or a good price. The secret is to come on Monday or Thursday when they run their specials. Youll get the best value for your money. The other secret is to not order their premium cuts of meat or their seafood. I know, everyone wants the top grade meat but the meat is paper thin here (which is a plus, nothing peevs me more than thick shabu cuts of meat) so all the meat you get is extremely tender and all the meat in general is high quality, youre not getting anything extra with the higher priced meats. Stick to either the normal beef or pork plates and youre set. They have vegetarian AYCE thats not listed on the menu that runs about $20 or so. I love their veggies here and very much enjoy that option. If you have a friend that does the beef AYCE and you just want veggies, theyll let you do a veggie AYCE which was really nice. That will also come with a veggie sesame/peanut dip for celery and carrots which was tasty! That wont come with any of the meat options. This place is comfort food 100%. All their dishes come with a pile high plate of veggies with noodles on the bottom that are incredibly fresh and high quality. Definitely not an afterthought like the other shabu spots in the area. 1 plate of beef for me and a friend is enough to get us full with the veggies. Enjoy your meal with hot sake and a bottle of beer. Another authentic touch this place does that others dont, theres a piece of kombu in every boiling pot that creates a delicate umami rich broth.

I brought 2 friends who didnt know what Shabu was. We all ordered the all you can eat basic beef shabu. The meat was good quality but the vegetables were somewhat lacking. It was mostly cabbage with 2 pieces of mushroom, 4 small tofu and a handful of other items. The last place I went to had a large variety of vegetable to choose from. The sauces were fantastic. The Ponzu was very well made, Tart with a great flavor. The Sesame sauce was also well made. We were able to have a small ice cream at the end of the dinner. My friends had green tea and I had the mango. I cant attest to the quality of theirs but my mango was fruity and smooth. The service, I dont know if it was because we ordered all you can eat or if it typically is just a slow service so you have time to eat but we had a lacking service time. It was bad persay but it wasnt good either. The place was a bit pricey but overall good. I wasnt expecting to eat at this location so be aware if you are not expecting it. I originally had planned to go to Yojie on olympic but they were closed for repairs. We had 3 all you can eat beef shabu 1 soda 1 hot green tea 1 Iced green tea (not sure if Ice cream was charged but if so 3) Not sure if Gratuity was added or not either All total $105 and change. It was a good looking restaurant, definitely good for a classy night out but not overly formal. If you are looking for a nice well rounded dinner dive in.

Best Shabu house ever!!!! Heard they were opened now (July 3rd visit) so I went to dine in, outdoor seating, but it was a beautiful view!! Their beef Shabu is soooo delicious their peanut sauce is by far the best in Little Tokyo, Ive been to others but theyre all super diluted and/or theyre all very, very watery. Paired with an glass of iced plum wine on a hot summer day it cannot get better than that...but it can. Their meals come in half or full to which you get veggies, rice, peanut sauce, choice of Shabu, DESSERT, miso soup and more for a really good price! Always, always going back and not to another one.

The restaurant itself is quite nice, its a quiet atmosphere, very attentive staff, and the food is pretty good. My review will mainly be able the Shabu Shabu. On most days, if youre coming here just to catch up with friends or something, I wouldnt recommend it. This is because it is a little expensive, at $50 a person, BUT the best days to go are Monday and Thursday, as they discount the prices to $35-37 a person, a savings of $15 a person, which could be better spent on the drinks. The All You Can Eat is truly all you can eat, it just keeps coming and coming, until you let them know youre done. The price includes all kinds of things, a small salad, rice (I think, they may have changed that since I went), the shabu shabu itself, and an ice cream for dessert. The staff themselves are very attentive, they come by nearly every time they pass by you to check on you and see if you need a refill or want more meat. This is a great place to go if you have an enormous appetite (which honestly, you should, as youre spending $50 on a normal day, just to make it worth it). All in all, my only gripe with this place is the price, but that is easily remedied by the fact that they have days where they discount the All You Can Eat plates.
